FRP Shower Walls for Your Bathroom

FRP Shower Walls Guide

Shower wall material selection has gotten complicated with all the product types, installation methods, and durability claims flying around. As someone who has installed bathroom walls with every material, I learned everything there is to know about FRP panels. Today, I will share it all with you.

What FRP Is

Probably should have led with this section, honestly—fiberglass reinforced plastic panels offer waterproof, durable surfaces for wet areas.

Advantages

  • Completely waterproof
  • Easy to clean
  • Resistant to mold and mildew
  • Cost-effective installation

Installation

  1. Prepare wall surface—must be flat and dry
  2. Apply panel adhesive
  3. Position panels with slight gap at joints
  4. Secure with fasteners if required
  5. Seal joints with silicone

Considerations

  • Less aesthetically appealing than tile
  • Can be damaged by impact
  • Joints require maintenance
  • May not suit high-end applications
